How Easy is Your Product To Use?: Part Twee

On Thursday I posted about the challenge in understanding the icons on clothing care tags… I continue that discussion with more symbols.

Kijkwijzer is a rating system in the Netherlands which provides parents with an age recommendation for television programs, theater movies and film rentals.

Age Ranges

- Not harmful, All Ages

- Watch out for children under 6

- Watch out for children under 12

- Watch out for children under 16

There are also a series of clearly to understand pictograms providing context for the rating.

Pictograms

- Violence

- Fear

- Sex

- Discrimination

- Drugs and/or Alcohol Abuse

- Coarse Language

These icons make the selection of movies based on content pretty clear.

Click to learn more about the Netherlands Institute for the Classification of Audio-visual Media (NICAM) created the Kijkwijzer system.

The Dutch word for the number two (2) is “twee” that’s why this is entitled “part twee.”
