Big, Small, Single, Several?
There are a few variables to consider when working with a charity or community group. Your responses will depend on the capacity and resources available to you.
Big vs. small
Depending on the charity you work with, a $1,000 donation may be a small contribution to a huge organization or a huge contribution to a small charity.
Short-Term vs. Long-Term
Do you plan to have a one-time relationship with the charity? Will you work with them for a year? Or do you plan to work with them ongoing, forever?
Single Charity vs. Several Charities?
Do you plan to work with a single charity or do you want to spread donations among several groups? Whether you have a single location or are part of a large chain, how do you want to give back? You will have to decide which arrangement is best for your business.
We typically recommend picking a single charity. More than likely you’ll be giving 100s and 1000s of dollars to the charity not tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. Over time, you’ll make a bigger impact focusing your work with one charity. Furthermore, it is easier to become known for supporting a cause when you stick with a single cause.
